Soulrift Controls and Keybinds
Default combat binds plus how to change them before a boss teleport.
Soulrift’s skill expression is almost entirely in the hands. The official description lists Left Click as M1, Q as Dash, and Z / X / C as the three abilities. Movement is standard WASD. Keybinds are changeable in Settings — do that in the lobby, not mid-telegraph. This page is the narrative guide; the controls reference is the table you keep on a second monitor. New players should still start with getting started.
Default keyboard layout
| Action | Default |
|---|---|
| Move | W A S D |
| Attack (M1) | Left mouse |
| Dash / dodge | Q |
| Ability 1 | Z |
| Ability 2 | X |
| Ability 3 | C |
That is the entire published combat set. We will not invent Block, Parry, or Ultimate keys. If a character kit (Nyx Blood meter, Raiden grappling hook, Clockwork buffs) uses one of Z/X/C or a meter press, the client will tell you in the skill tooltip. Read Players for role context, not extra ghost binds.
What each bind is actually for
M1 is your filler. Zephyr’s slashes and Cross’s shots all live here. Holding M1 through a boss slam is how you die. Stop the string, Dash, resume.
Dash (Q) is the i-frame / reposition tool. Treat it like a raid dodge, not a sprint. Burning Dash to close a gap you could have walked is the number one reason public groups wipe on mechanics you “already knew.” Beat bosses assumes you have Dash discipline.
Z / X / C are the character. Reviva’s heal/revive, Sunder’s burst, Lumina’s long-cooldown nukes, Ricochet’s volume of fire — all sit on these three slots. Learn cooldown order on a dummy or a low-difficulty boss before you take them into Shuffle Mode.
Remapping without breaking muscle memory
Open Settings in the lobby. Change one bind at a time and fight one easy boss before changing another. Common remaps:
- Dash to Left Shift if you came from other Roblox battlegrounds.
- Skills to 1/2/3 if you hate the bottom-left of the keyboard.
- Never map Dash and M1 to the same mouse button. You will panic-click and waste the dodge.
Mobile players use on-screen buttons that mirror the same actions. Place the Dash button where your thumb already rests. If a GUI covers Dash, you will not “git gud,” you will just die. The controls reference has a mobile checklist.
Character-specific gotchas (no invented skill names)
- Nyx has a Blood meter that fills during the fight and then spends for a large hit. Whatever key dumps the meter, practice the dump on a target dummy mentally: fill, then spend, do not sit on a full meter forever.
- Raiden is mobile because of a grappling hook. Treat hook + Dash as two resources, not one.
- Clockwork spends slots on acceleration, immunity, and movement buffs for the team. If you bind those awkwardly you will buff late and the melee players will eat the slam anyway. See quest roster.
- Cross and Lumina want camera space. Bind nothing that requires you to look at the far left of the keyboard while tracking a laser.
Practice drill (five minutes)
- Stand still, M1 for two seconds, Dash, M1 again.
- Dash only on a visual cue (jump, flash, wind-up). If the client has a training dummy, use it.
- Press Z, wait for the cooldown UI, then X, then C. Memorize which slot is “panic” versus “setup.”
- Queue the lowest difficulty and refuse to M1 during the first slam you see. That single habit is more valuable than any script.

Economy still matters after your fingers work: Souls and XP, unlock characters, accessories (speed pieces reduce how far you must Dash). VIP does not change binds; it only speeds currency — gamepasses.
If helix_works adds extra inputs in a patch, we will update this page from patch notes, not from rumor. Until then, five binds plus Settings is the whole control story.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for Soulrift players.
Can I change Soulrift keybinds?
Yes. The official description says keybinds are changeable in Settings. Do it in the lobby. See the controls reference.
What does Q do?
Dash / dodge. It is your main defensive tool. Practice it in getting started before raising difficulty.
Are there different controls in Shuffle Mode?
Same combat binds. Shuffle is a different place, not a new input scheme. Read Shuffle Mode.
Do scripts add extra keys?
Injectors may overlay GUIs. That is unofficial. See scripts and stay on the default binds for legitimate play.
