Best first unlock (most lobbies)

Reviva (250 Souls, 80 HP) is the best purchase if your public groups keep going down. Heal plus revive changes the round more than a slightly bigger M1. If groups already live and you need the boss to die, Sunder (1000 Souls, 125 HP) is the published close-range spike. Skipping both to stare at Raiden (4000) is how you stay on a starter for no reason and still wipe. Shop roster.

Clockwork (Awakening quest, 90 HP) is the best quest unlock for the same reason Reviva is the best cheap shop buy: the lobby gets acceleration, immunity, and movement. Pay the fight tax; the buffs refund it. Quest roster.

Best starters (you already own them)

Zephyr (110 HP) if you like melee spacing and ranged slashes. Cross (100 HP) if you want lasers, grenades, and kiting. Both are complete kits. Many players should stay here through Hitting Your Stride and Proven Fighter. Starters and getting started.

Best specialists (once you have a role)

• Scar (Burning Soul, 105 HP) — burn plus AoE when the arena wants ticking damage.
• Crystal (A Tundra Menace, 100 HP) — ice coverage, short and long options.
• Nyx (Greater Heights, 80 HP) — Blood meter dump; only “best” if they live long enough to fill it.
• Ricochet (1500 Souls, 90 HP) — flexible fire rate, not a highlight-reel nuke.
• Lumina (2500 Souls, 90 HP) — long range, long cooldowns; feast or famine.
• Raiden (4000 Souls, 110 HP) — melee, ranged, hook. Strong and late. Buy him after Reviva or Sunder exists in your account, not instead of them.

Team comps still wants a support before a second Lumina. Boss difficulty still wants one named telegraph before you climb ticks.

Best for your Souls wallet

A character you do not own is not best. 250 Souls is a session. 4000 Souls is a project. Quest fighters are free in currency and expensive in mechanics. There are no codes to skip that math — codes hub. VIP 1.5× speeds the legal farm; it does not pick your main. Gamepasses.

Public nights punish fashion picks. A Lumina who dumps into armor phases is worse than Cross. A Nyx who hoards Blood through the slam is worse than Zephyr. “Best” is the kit you can explain in one sentence before the loading screen closes. If you came from a thumbnail that ranked eleven gods without mentioning 250 versus 4000 Souls, ignore the thumbnail. Cost is a stat. Quest skill is a stat. Empty accessory slots are a stat.
