Soulrift Getting Started

Soulrift looks like a lobby simulator until you take the first boss teleport. This getting-started guide is the intended first read after you click Play on Soulrift. It covers the in-game tutorial, which starter to pick, how the eight-player fight actually starts, and how to spend the first few hundred Souls. For binds, keep controls open in another tab. For the empty promo list, see the codes hub.

The real first hour

helix_works shipped a combat tutorial that walks M1, Dash, and the three skill slots. Do not skip it to look cool in public servers. Soulrift bosses are built around attack patterns; if you cannot Dash on reaction you will eat the same slam every round. After the lesson:

  1. Stay on Zephyr (110 HP, swordsman with fast and ranged slashes) or Cross (100 HP, lasers and grenades). Both are free. Details: starter characters.
  2. Queue a boss at the lowest loading-screen difficulty until you can explain one telegraph out loud. Beat bosses is the theory page; this page is the habit page.
  3. Turn in Baby Steps and Just Getting Started (100 Souls each). That 200 is the Reviva down payment. Full table: Souls and XP.
  4. Decide whether your public groups are dying because nobody heals. If yes, buy Reviva (250 Souls, 80 HP, heal plus revive). If groups already live and you want a damage spike, save toward Sunder (1000 Souls). Shop list: shop roster.

Do not raise difficulty two ticks because a friend said it “farms faster.” Faster wipes are slower Souls. Boss difficulty explains the loading-screen slider.

Lobby versus fight instance

The root place can look like a one-player lobby. That is not the whole game. Boss Fight is a separate place that hosts the round. You still play with up to eight people in the encounter. Shuffle Mode is a third place and should wait until you know a kit — Shuffle Mode. If someone tells you Soulrift is “single-player only,” they read the lobby player cap and ignored the fight place.

Roles you will meet in hour one

You do not need the tier list memorized yet, but you need the language:

  • Melee DPS — Sunder later; Zephyr now.
  • Ranged DPS — Cross now; Ricochet and Lumina later.
  • Support — Reviva in the shop; Clockwork from the Awakening quest.
  • Hybrid — Raiden is 4000 Souls; ignore him in hour one.

Team comps is the page to open once three friends queue together. Solo public servers are a lottery; bring a self-sufficient kit (Cross kiting, Zephyr slash pressure) until you have a duo.

Accessories and the five slots

You can equip up to five accessories with passives such as speed or damage. Fill empty slots even with cheap pieces. A speed accessory makes Dash repositioning less painful while you learn. Full notes: accessories.

What not to do in the first session

  • Do not hunt a redeem box. How to redeem exists to tell you it is missing.
  • Do not inject scripts to “skip the grind.” Bans are worse than a slow Sunder.
  • Do not buy VIP before you have cleared one boss. Gamepasses is a later read.
  • Do not start Clockwork/Crystal/Nyx/Scar quests until you can survive the required fight. Those pages live under quest roster and quests.

A 30-minute practice loop

Warm up on dummies or the tutorial reminder if the client still offers it. Then one low-difficulty boss. After the win, check quest progress. After a loss, name the attack that killed you before you queue again. That sentence is the entire skill expression of Soulrift. When you can name three attacks, open how to unlock characters and pick a mid-term goal (Reviva, Sunder, or Clockwork).

Community news belongs on updates and community. This getting-started page will stay focused on the first-hour loop so it does not rot into a patch dump.

When the hour is over you should have: one starter you like, 200+ Souls or Reviva, and a mental list of one boss pattern. Then the wiki’s job is done for the night — go play another round.
